Kokoshnik headdress

The headdress Kokoshnik was a decorative headwear for women and is a part of Russian traditional costume. Kokoshniks presented in our shop are handmade and skillfully decorated in Russia. Russian headdresses are usually bought together with traditional dresses or costumes and used for dance performances and theaters.

Russian traditional headwear can be defined by two main words: kokoshnik and ushanka hats. Ushanka hats are quite popular today thanks to their warmness and ear flops. There is another Russian hat for women called kubanka. Kubanka hat the appearance of a cylinder made of sheep wool or skin and has no flaps. Some kubanka hats look stylish on cute ladies heads.
